Summary

The current drives are fully SATA 600 capable but the SATA 300 / SATA 600 capability will be determined by the motherboard and it can be programable from the BIOS depending on the motherboard capabilities. Auto lets the BIOS automatically configure this setting. (Default: Auto)

However, the drives should be set as 600 as default, but this can be check using the Solidigm™ Storage Tool (Intel® branded NAND SSDs) Physpeed feature to review and set the preferred speed. To do these changes, use the following steps:

  • Download and install the Solidigm™ Storage Tool.
  • On the command prompt run the command: sst show -ssd to get reference of drive.
  • Run command: sst set -ssd <ref> physpeed=1.5/3/6. Choose the number that corresponds to the physpeed desired, for example, 6 for 600 SATA interface.

Additionally, review with the motherboard manufacturer the settings on the BIOS to allow the ports to use the preferred data transfer.
