Why Does The LED Of My Solidigm™ (Formerly Intel®) SSD DC P4608 And P4618 Keep Flickering?

Explains The Behavior And Status Of The Light Indicators On SSD DC P4608 & P4618

Summary

The LEDs on the Solidigm™ (formerly Intel®) SSD DC P4608 flicker in green color when there is activity on the drive. Refer below table for more information about the LED behavior.

LED Description Blink Behavior
LED D103 (Drive Activity indicator for ASIC 1) Shows Green color when there is activity on the Drive Solid Green On – Idle
Green - Blinks at the rate of 250msec high, 250msec low with IO activity
LED D102 (Drive Activity indicator for ASIC 2) Shows Green color when there is activity on the Drive Solid Green On – Idle
Green - Blinks at the rate of 250msec high, 250msec low with IO activity
LED D101 (PCIe* Link Status) Shows Green color when PCIe* Link is good (OR) Shows yellow color when the link is sub optimal, meaning running either at Gen1 or Gen 2 speeds if it’s a Gen 3 link. The LED reports only Secondary bus link status (behind switch) and does not report the status between the switch and host. Solid Green – On if both ASICs behind switch is Gen 3x4
Yellow – On if link is sub optimal
LED D100 (Health indicator) Drive health indicator
Off – Healthy
Amber color – If Drive is faulty
Yellow Off – Healthy
