How To Successfully Use The Solidigm™ SSD Firmware Update Tool On Systems That Have Secure Boot Enabled In The BIOS

Description
Unable to update the Solid State Drive (SSD) firmware with the Solidigm™ Bootable Firmware Update Tool.

Resolution
The Solidigm™ Bootable Firmware Update Tool may not be able to update the SSD firmware on some systems if the Secure Boot feature is enabled in the system BIOS.

To successfully update the firmware on these systems:

  • Enter the BIOS.
  • Disable secure boot.
  • Use the Solidigm™ Bootable Firmware Update Tool to update the firmware.
  • Re-enable secure boot in the BIOS again.

Customer might need to check with system manufacturer for the detailed steps of changing BIOS settings.
